Mr. T. B. Moktan takes keen interest for the conservation of local tradition and culture.

He has a good collection of traditional knife (Khukuri), gun and a vintage Jeep. He is living with his wife Mrs Kamala, who also assists him in taking care of the guests.

Activity

1) Day trip to Takdah orchid nursery, tea garden visit, Triveni view point. Return via Teesta bazar. 2)Day trip to Kalimpong with local sightseeing. 3) Day visit to Darjeeling with local sightseeing. 4) River rafting and other river activity at Teesta river.

Weather

Maximum day temperature during summer is 25-28 and minimum is 8-10 degree during the winter.

Orientation

A century old house of the Moktans who were one of the first people to start leaving in the area. The hospitality of the Moktans and their love for their heritage and history makes this place unique.

The Property

It is a two storied stone and concrete building. The area is surround by farmland and has a good view of the area.

Resort Amenities

The property is suitably located for river activity such as rafting and ankling in river Teesta.

Food

Regular mountain meal which includes, rice, Vegetables and lantil soup is served for lunch and dinner.

Chapati, Puri, and Paratha with vegetables is served in breakfast.

The exterior/interior

Location

Bara Mangwa busty is about 12 Km from Teesta Bazar and comes under the Takdah Block. The area is well known for the tomato, potato and other vegetables which are organically grown here.

The place also offers a scenic view of the Kanchenjunga mountain range and the majestic river Teesta flowing along the valley. There is also an old Buddhist monastery which was build in the year 1915-17 by a monk who came from Tibet. At present his 4 generation is taking care of the monastery.

Getting There

Teesta Bazar, which is on the NH 10 route connecting Gangtok and Kalimpong with Siliguri, our property is located about 12 kms and the drive is 1 hour uphill drive.

Another road accessibility is from Tukdah. From Tukdah the road via Teenchuley continues downhill. Road condition is fairly good at present and takes about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to reach.
