Monika Thapa is a soft spoken local lady and she is managing the homestay with help from her two sons.
The primary attraction is the great mountain view.
Also being in a quite and peaceful corner of the hills, the village is an excellent place for one to walk around and enjoy natures bounty. The forested hills are also a great place to go for short and medium treks. The area is also an excellent birding destination.Even More...

The weather here is comfortable most of the year. It is a hill station but not too high on the hills either. The summer temperature rarely crossed 20 degree centigrade and the winter weather rarely goes below 5 degree. During the rainy season heavy to very heavy rain is common.
This is a village homestay at Charkhole village. The accommodation is managed by the Thapa family. It is situated on the main road of Charkhole that leads to the hilltop.
The homestay is a two storied building. It is situated on the main road leading to the Charkhole Hill top. Good view of surrounding mountains is available from here.
All rooms have attached toilets with running hot and cold water. There is a common television at the dinning hall. There is no individual televisions in the rooms.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is included in the package for tourists. Additional food is charged extra. There are not too many eating options around so guest has to depend on the homestay for food.
The area is heavily forested all around and has an open mountain view in front.
Charkhole has come into prominence due to its pristine beauty and great mountain view. There are other smaller hamlets in the area such as Pubung, Samtahar, 27 Mile etc which can be reached from here.

Via Kalimpong the distance is about 100 kms from NJP and takes about 4 hours to reach. The second option is to go to Charkhole via Bagrakote in Dooars. This road passes through Chuikhim which is another hill station. Total distance would be about 70 kms through this route. The third option is to reach Charkhole via Teesta dam near Rambhi Bazar. This route is about 75 kms long and takes about 3 hours to reach.Even More...
Loleygoan and Chuikhim are the two popular tourist destinations near Charkhole. Both within short drive from here.
Loleygaon is just 12 kms through a heavily forested road. However the travel time will entirely depend on the road condition. Since the road is not very often used, it can take quite long if the road is not in good condition. Loleygaon can also be reached by trek through the forests which takes about 2 hours. Chuikhim on the other hand is about 18 kms away and should be reachable in 45 minutes drive.Even More...
