Lepchjagat is located at an altitude of about 7000 feet or about 2200 meters. Being on a relatively high altitude, the weather here is cooler compared to the plains. Even during peak summer season, worm clothing is required. During winter months, temperate sometimes may go close to freezing point though snow fall is not very common here. Heavy woollen is required during winter months. July and August witness major rainfall but an umbrella might be useful any time of the year as the weather often becomes misty and sudden rainfall in unexpected times may occure.
