Krishna Thapa is your host at Humro Home Gulma. He was born and brought up in the village.
Krishna made his mark through his hard work and dedication. Although he worked as a bartender for most of his life, he remains a teetotaller and a vegetarian. Though that does not constrain his hospitality towards the guests.Even More...

Gulma Tea Garden - Just opposite to our Homestay is the famous Mohargaon Gulma Tea Garden. The road opposite to the Homestay goes to the Tea Factory and the labour line about 2 kms away. The road is through the tea garden and can be a place for a morning or evening walk even if you do not intend to walk the entire distance.
Sukna - 3 kms west of the Homestay is Sukna village. On one side of the road is Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary and on the other side is Gulma Tea Garden. Walking on this road is not recommended as elephants often come out on the road here. At Sukna you can visit the Forest museum, or go to the beautiful Sukna rail station of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Mahananda River - 1.5 kms towards the east is Mahananda river bed and Rail Bridge over Mahananda river. This is a beautiful place and is popular among locals as well as visitors as a picnic spot. The weather cools down immediately after sundown and you may feel the need of a light quilt in the night.
