Sittong is a calm and peaceful village in Kurseong division of Darjeeling district. This is a place to fall in love with nature, at its pristine best. If you love blooming orange orchards, if you love the sweet song of the unknown birds, if you love the runny nose and smiling faces of a cute village children, if you love to put your feet in the cold water of a small hill stream, you will fall in love with Sittong. Sittong is also popular as the destinations from which you visit Mangpu, the hill station made famous by Poet Tagore. Mangpu does not have many tourist accommodation of its own and our Sittong Humro Home is about 6 kms from Mangpu, making it an ideal base for visiting there.
Humro Home Sittong is a 3 storied building of the Mangar family. Our partner here is an hyperactive young man named Anil Mangar. Dont be surprised by the free wifi in such a remote place. If you need to use your debit card, he can help you with that too as he works closely with the local bank here. Humro Home Sittong is arguably one of the best accommodations in the area. Apart from nicely decorated rooms, there are cozy seating areas from where you can watch neatures bounty. There is free parking for your vehicle and 24 hour security on site, though in a hospitable village like Sittong we never had any security issue.
There are multiple routes to reach here depending on where you are coming from. One of the simplest way to travel here is to come to Mangpu. Go to Nalidara in Manpu which is the main taxi stand here. Take the south bound downhill road and reach Jogighat bridge over river Riyang about 6 kms away. Half a km after crossing Jogighat on your right is Humro Home Sittong.
