Young Pema Sherpa is a local villager and he runs his own homestay along with Daphter Bungalow with the help of his family. Being a guide as well, he is familiar with the region and is therefore adept at helping guests to be comfortable and find their way around.
Pema has been involved with Sikkim Tourism for many years as a caretaker of Daphter Bungalow. He is a soft spoken, gentle young man, always eager to make his guests comfortable. As there may be some issues at these altitudes, like electricity, running water, breathing problems etc., the Sherpa family's caring attitude provides much relief to tourists who may not be very familiar with the problems faced at high altitudes.Even More...

Gnathang remains completely snow covered from January to April and temperatures range between -5 to 2 degrees in the winter months. During summer, the mercury levels are better at between 7 and 15 degrees. The vista changes with the weather - completely white in winter, bursting with colours in the flowering season and golden during autumn when the grass becomes dry.
Gnathang Valley is the highest part of the Old Silk Route on the Indian side where accommodation is available. It is situated at 13,500 ft above sea level and hence the density of the air is low. It tends to be covered in heavy snow almost 6 months of the year. Our homestay here provides warm hospitality to tourists who aspire to travel the Silk Route.
Humro Home Pema Homestay is located very close to the famous Daphter Bungalow. Guests can also be accommodated if necessary at this historical bungalow as it is run by the same family. Daphter Bungalow was built in the year 1920 and used as a customs collection point during the British era. It was then taken over by the Sikkim Tourism department and is managed on a daily basis by the Sherpa family. It is probably the only structure there which made of stone.
Humro home Pema homestay is made of wood and bricks.
Our homestay is located at the heart of the tiny village of Gnathang. It is a basic homestay, with basic amenities that are possible at that altitude.
There is space in front for vehicles to be parked. You will find small grocery shops a short walk away.
