As in the case of most hill villages, there are many roads to approach Sittong. If you are new to the area, you should not try to navigate this labyrinth of roads on your own. The route idea given below is more for locals and those who have a clear idea about the road network in the area. Visitors from outside should depend on local drivers to take them to Sittong.
One road originates from Dilaram near Darjeeling and reaches Sittong via Bagora. The second route comes here via Sukna – Shivkhola – Mahaldiram route. However, the most common route is to come here via National Highway 10 and then take a westbound turn at Kalijhora / Birik or Rambi Bazar. The three turning points will take you to Sittong through 3 different routes. The Kalijhora route is the shortest though often in bad shape. It will go via Latpancar to Sittong. The Birik Dara road reaches Sittong 3 first and then via Shelphu goes to Sittong 1 and Sittong 2 area. The third route is to go to Rambhi bazaar and then climb up to Mongpu. From here go through a downward sloping road for 6 km to reach Sittong.Even More...
