Our Homestay at Lamahatta is one of the most popular and one of the first to start tourism here. The Dukpa family who owns and runs the Homestay were one of the first to start tourism by setting up a couple of Tents here. They have come a long way since then with setting up new rooms and building proper tourism infrastructure at Lamahatta. Today Humro Home Druk Homestay is arguably one of the best places to stay here.
Humro Home Druk Homestay Lamahatta, is situated right on the main highway connecting Darjeeling with Kalimpong. The original house with a Tinned roof and tinned wall used to be the only place for tourists to stay, today the hosts have come up with new cement building with large rooms and attached toilets for tourist stay.

Since Lamahatta is located midway between Darjeeling and Kalimpong, you can visit here through either of the place. Those coming from Sikkim, Kalimpong or Dooars side has to drive to Teesta bazaar and then take the uphill Peshok road. From Teesta Bazar, Lamahatta is just 13 kms away.
If you are coming from Darjeeling / Mirik side, you have to take the Peshok road that originates from Jorebungalow near Ghum. From Ghum to Lamahatta is just 17 kms drive. People travelling from Bagdogra or NJP may take either route to reach Lamahatta as the distance and travel time is not very different.Even More...
