Mr Norden Tshering Yolmo is a businessperson is an amiable local person, who with his wife Mrs Mindu Yolmo charms the guests and put the best effort for their satisfaction. Mr Yolmo has been involved with the business and has run a placement agency earlier. Since 2016 he has been focusing on the homestay business as a form of livelihood.
Takdah is popular among tourists for its old Cinchona bungalow, forested hills and natural view of the mountains and tea gardens. It is not typical sightseeing driven tourist destination.

Takdah offers pleasant weather throughout the year. Since the altitude of Takdah at around 4000 feet is not very high, hence winters are not severely cold. Summer is also reasonably cooler for anyone to enjoy the environment. Takdah can be enjoyed at any time of the year. During winter carry heavy woollen and during summer carry light woollen. Nights are much colder than the day and preparation should be taken accordingly. Rain is common throughout the year so do not forget to carry an umbrella or raincoat. Monsoon months of July to September witness heavy to a very heavy shower. Although Takdah is not known to be landslide-prone, the overall Darjeeling hills there may be landslides during the Monsoon months.
The property is three storied building. It has got two categories. The phase containing 11 standard rooms is called Resort and rest 3 rooms falls under home stay. The property is on the road and accessible by car easily. It takes around 5 mints from Takdah Bazar ( main area ) to reach the property by car. The property is well maintained and all the rooms are clean. 11 standard rooms in resort phase can accommodate 2 adults in each room am and 3 rooms in home stay phase can accommodate 3 adults in each room.
The property is a three-storied building below the main road of Takdah. The accommodation has two types of rooms. The new building with 11 standard rooms is a modern construction and is not part of the heritage building. There are 3 rooms which are in the traditional homestay model. The property is off the main road but can be accessed on a vehicle, this is important as much of Takdah can not be accessed on a vehicle. It accommodation is about 3 to 5 mints drive from Takdah Bazar. As many as 40 to 45 people can be accommodated here at one time
All the rooms are well maintained and fitted with attached washroom with geyser. A sitting area on each floor. Garden is also a few steps down the stairs.
Home made food are available. Breakdast, Lunch, Evening snacks, Dinner all are hygienic.
The accommodation is below the main road about 500 meters downhill from the main Bazar area. The Takdah hospital is nearby and the property is accessible by vehicle.
Takdah can be reached from two main directions. If you are travelling from Siliguri / NJP / Bagdogra / Dooars / Kalimpong or Sikkim side, you will have to travel through the Sikkim - Bengal National Highway 10 which is a road passing beside river Teesta. Once you reach riyang confluence, a couple of km ahead of a small village named Rambhi, take the westbound uphill road from here and drive up for about 45 minutes (16 km) to reach Takdah.

Timchulay is just about three kilometres ahead of Takdah. At Tinchule there is a bifurcation of road, take the North bound road and drive for about 3 km more to reach Lopchu Bazar on the Peshok road. Drive another 3 km from here to reach Lamahatta.
