Takdah
Norgenma Lama is a local villager who has converted her home into a homestay about 5 years ago. Her father came to own this bungalow, like many other influential locals did, when the British left India in 1947.
She and her family members are actively involved in hosting tourists who come to visit Takdah with the intention to spend some leisure time.
Even More...Takdah is a haven for the avian species and hence a delight for birdwatchers. You can also walk into Takdah village, passing by other similar bungalows.
There is a hanging bridge within just 2 Kms from here, which is about 100 years old. Takdah is famous for the many tea gardens like Runglee Rungliot, Namring, etc. You can walk or drive down to any of them to visit. You can also visit the famous Orchid Centre where many varieties of colourful Himalayan orchids are grown.
Takdah's proximity to a number of places gives you the flexibility of opting to sightsee if you are in the mood. Even Darjeeling is very accessible, about 26 Kms away.

Humro Home Takdah is located in Takdah cant. division of Darjeeling district. The Homestay is located 11 kms from 6th Mile and just half a kilometre away from Takdah Club. Its a colonial heritage bungalow, made of stones of that era. It is a single storey building with high roof and a fireplace in the living room. The bungalow can accommodate a maximum of 5 adults and 1 child.
There is a large lawn where you can spend hours soaking in the beauty of the entire valley.
The location doesn't have a restaurant so the bookings will be in AP plan. The basic meal plan will be morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea & snacks and dinner.
Local food will be served in a limited choice. Breakfast includes Roti thali tea/ coffee, lunch includes north indian thali( veg/ non veg) and for dinner its optional wether you want to have roti thali or rice thali.
This bungalow no-11 is located near Takdah club. It is slightly off the main road and surrounded by pine and ashoka trees. This gives the place a very peaceful ambience.
