The Homestay is in the Senchal forest with a beautiful Kanchenjunga view and it's 7,800 ft above sea level.
Chatakpur is the hilltop next to the famous Tiger hill sunrise point. The viewpoint and watchtower are situated very close to this homestay. This viewpoint offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the hills on a clear day.
The property offers two Rooms for visitors. A two-family group is ideal as you will have the entire place to yourself. Both the rooms have attached toilets with running hot and cold water.

Chatakpur is a very small village there is no restaurant in the village, so all our bookings are in AP plan, which means all your meals will be served at our homestay.
At Chatakpur you do not have an alternative arrangement for Food such as a restaurant. Hence, Packages are all-inclusive and include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and evening tea, and snacks. There is no other meal plan on offer.
Breakfast includes roti Sabji or Puri-Bhaji. Lunch includes dal, rice, vegetable, and egg. Dinner consists of Roti or rice with dal, vegetables, and chicken, additional food if available will be charged extra on the spot. If you have any special request about food, you need to reconfirm the same in advance.
Location / Accessibility
You can visit the Watchtower located on top of the hill with a 360-degree view of the surrounding hills. There is a small lake in the forest which can be a good place for a forest trail.
Chatakpur is not a place for usual sightseeing around. tourists may visit Darjeeling and the surrounding area which all are within a driving time. You can take the hike to Tiger Hill. It is a 3 hours trek.

From Bagdogra / NJP drive to Dilaram near Darjeeling (55 km) from here a steep forested road will take you to Bagora, about 3 km away. Bagora is an Indian Air force base located on Old Cart road. The old cart road is the original road to Darjeeling from Siliguri.
From Bagora you will travel to Chatakpur via the old cart road. The distance is about 14 km.
You can also reach Chatakpur named 3rd mile on the Darjeeling – Kalimpong Peshok road which travels about 12 km. The shortest route originates at Sonada on the National Highway 110 and covers 6 km to reach Chatakpur. The route to be taken will depend on the present condition of the road as well as where you are coming from.
You may also travel from Jorebunglow through the Jorebunglow Chatakpur road. This road reaches Chatakpur just 14 km away.
You can travel from the 3rd-mile area on the Darjeeling Kalimpong Peshok road. From the 3rd-mile forest check post, you will be travelling about 11 km to reach Chatakpur. Also, note the road through the forest may be quite tricky for drivers who are not familiar with the terrain. So we do not recommend self-driving. High ground clearance of the vehicle is also a must.
